Gene Simmons ready to rock the Rexall Edmonton Indy!
One of the biggest names in rock and roll is heading to Edmonton to help fans rev their
engines for the Rexall Edmonton Indy. Gene Simmons, the co-founder of KISS, and star of the hit A&E
Reality Show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, will take the stage as Grand Marshall for the first IndyCar
Series race in Edmonton’s history.
“I AM INDY! This is who I am,” said Gene Simmons. “From the top of my head to the bottom of my platformed bootheels. There is no greater thrill than to be within earshot of the fastest cars on Planet Earth. I look forward to seeing you all at the Citadel of Speed – the Rexall Edmonton Indy.”
Rexall Edmonton Indy Secured Three Year Agreement
Edmonton, Alberta - It's confirmed - the Rexall Edmonton Indy shifts into high gear at the
Rexall Speedway, July 24-26, 2008. Northlands, operator of the Rexall Edmonton Indy,
has signed a three-year agreement with the Indy Racing League, sanctioning body for
the IndyCar Series, to bring the excitement of IndyCar Series racing to the extremely
fast and technically challenging Rexall Speedway through 2010.

Rexall Grand Prix and Northlands build on success in 2008
Edmonton, Alberta – The Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton is shifting gears in 2008 as a
new ownership and
management agreement has been worked out between Northlands, the
Grand Prix and the City of Edmonton as a means to build on the international success of
the event.
A comprehensive event management, sponsorship coordination and general operations
arrangement has been agreed upon that will enable Grand Prix, and Northlands signature
summer festival, Capital EX, to be positioned as Edmonton’s biggest summer celebration
for years to come. Similar to other operating arrangements with Northlands, the City has
agreed to financially backstop the event.

Dominguez Soars in a CF-18 Hornet
Dominguez Gets the Experience of a Lifetime: PCM Champ Car driver Mario Dominguez was a guest of
the Royal Canadian Airforce in Cold Lake, Alberta on Thursday. Dominguez met Captain Paul “Squish” Umrysh earlier this year at the Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton when Dominguez gave the pilot a ride in the F1 2-Seater. Captain Squish returned the favor and offered Dominguez the opportunity to ride in the CF-18 Hornet. A lifelong dream for Dominguez, he jumped at the opportunity. Dominguez travelled to Alberta, Canada on Tuesday. Similar to race cars, Dominguez completed a seat fitting on Wednesday, followed by a medical and gear fitting. Thursday was the big day, Dominguez spent 1.5 hours in the C19 Hornet, “riding with “Squish” in the CF-18 was unbelievable, after take-off he broke the sound barrier almost immediately, the we entered a simulated Dog Fight. He did several manoeuvres, one after the other, he is a phenomenal pilot and I will never forget this experience,” said Dominguez.

SEBASTIEN BOURDAIS RACES TO CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD IN EDMONTON
Heading into the Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton there was
a three-way battle for
the top spot in the Series Championship, but after the
checkered flag flew,
three-time Champion Sebastien Bourdais (#1 McDonald's
Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone) showed his experience by winning
the event at
Rexall Speedway and built himself a 20 point lead in the

Thrill From the West Hill Touches Down in Edmonton
On June 14 th Canadian driver Paul Tracy was in Edmonton for media interviews and an autograph session. Over 150 people came to the Edmonton International Airport to get an autograph from Paul.
Paul Tracy, four-time winner of Grand Prix of Long Beach, recently returned to racing after a painful vertebra injury left him unable to race since April. The 2003 Champ Car World Series Champion is back on the track and his first race back was in Portland June 8 th -10 th, finishing in the top 10.
Paul Tracy always looks forward to the three consecutive Canadian races: Mont-Tremblant, Toronto and then Edmonton.
We hope to see great things from Paul when he races the Edmonton track July 20 th -22 nd!

The Victory Lap Charity Program

sadors Alex Tagliani and Andrew Ranger of the Victory Lap Charity Program were in Edmonton on June 5, 2007 for a visit with some special kids from the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
The Victory Lap Charity Program is a cross-Canada fund-raising effort on behalf of the Children’s Miracle Network. The network provides medical care and preventative education to help millions of youngsters overcome disease and injuries of all kinds. Last year the program raised $209,000 and the fundraising objective this year is $350,000.

GRAHAM AND BOBBY RAHAL ARE IN EDMONTON AND READY TO RACE
May 16, 2007 Edmonton, AB - When Team Rahal members Bobby and his 18-year-old son Graham make their way to Edmonton for the Grand Prix, July 20-22, it will be familiar territory for both of them.
Bobby raced in Edmonton more than once in the 1970s and Graham competed in the 2006 Champ Car Atlantic Championship Series event at City Centre Airport, finishing second to eventual series winner Simon Pagenaud of France.
