THANK YOU to all those who made the 2008 Rexall Edmonton Indy a huge success

Canada’s only 2008 IndyCar Series stop was broadcasted into over 180 countries and could not have happened without our dedicated team of approximately 1200 volunteers.  Everyone from site services, to access, to credentials, 50/50 volunteers to those on the track itself in racing services came together to make this years inaugural Rexall Edmonton Indy a fantastic event.

We truly welcomed the world to Edmonton and we look forward to welcome you back for another round in 2009! Northlands has a three year deal with the IndyCar Series, so prepare yourself for another Three Days of Wild next July 24, 25 & 26th for the 2009 Rexall Edmonton Indy. 

The fun never stops!  We are now accepting applications for you to join this exclusive team.

Work amongst a crew of energized individuals within 11 exciting areas and benefit big time! Meals, exclusive swag and lots of giveaways are just some of the perks.

A fourth year volunteer with site services explains, “to be honest, I am not a huge race fan but this weekend is electric and is not to be missed.” Dennis Keefe enjoys the excitement his volunteer post provides but he’s also a big supporter of the city, saying “with an event that’s this high profile, it’s an excellent thing to be a part of.”
“Last year we not only got to transport the drivers up to the podium,” explains another fourth year returning volunteer, “but we were also a big part of the parade of drivers just prior to the start of the race, it was very cool. I definitely got in behind the scenes. I like that, to be able to participate in parts of the event the public can’t.”

Congratulations to Dianne Dyck- a first year volunteer who won our grand prize giveaway of a trip for two to the 2009 Indianapolis 500!  Dianne will enjoy return airfare, hotel, car rental and some stellar tickets to the event.

A huge congratulations to all our winners who in addition to a behind the scene’s look at the Rexall Edmonton Indy took home ski weekends to Jasper courtesy of AMA, Eskimos tickets courtesy of Konica Minolta, Oilers tickets courtesy of DSS, Indy and Pace car rides courtesy of the event and so much more.

We know lots of our volunteers enjoyed an exclusive opportunity to get one on one with many of the drivers; there sure are a ton of photos popping up on their Facebook sites.

Know friends and family who could be interested in volunteering?  Please encourage them to apply, have them write in your name as the reason they are applying and we'll do our best to schedule you together through the event.
